  • First Responder Education and Group Sessions

    Research shows First Responders are at an elevated risk of developing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), 1 in 3 first responders develop PTSD. While nearly thirty-seven percent of EMS Personnel and Firefighters in the US have contemplated suicide at some point in their lives. (1)

    (PTSD) is a debilitating condition that affects First Responders at a disproportionately higher rate due to frequent exposure of traumatic events. Symptoms include nightmares, flashbacks, irritability, angry outbursts, sleep problems, and difficulty concentrating. Physical symptoms such as chronic pain, sweating, jitteriness, headaches, dizziness, and chest pain. (2)

    Set Free Counseling offers education and group therapy sessions to First Responders.
